National Championship Trip Fundraising

Being optimists, we have started a push for solid fundraising in the hopes of qualifying for the U18 Boys national championships. While we have yet to qualify (that will depend upon results APril 25 vs Belmont Shore at HOME), waiting until after qualification will simply not leave enough time to raise sufficient funds for travel expenses…so we have assembled a committee to spearhead several initiatives (below) with the hopes of qualifying.

These initiatives are all further detailed below but so far include:

Plate Sale!

Everyone should already be aware and sold their tickets…and now making sure that money all gets turned in! The food will be provided at April 25 home game, so we need final tickets/money in to get the right headcount. 🏉⚡ FUNDRAISER FOR OUR YOUTH THUNDER RUGBY ⚡🏉

We’re raising support for the next generation—young athletes putting in real work, earning real opportunities. All proceeds go directly to our Youth Thunder Rugby program in Oceanside, helping cover equipment and travel for the events they’ve fought their way into.

Burpee-A-Thon

Coaches wants the boys FIT while they compete…so big double win being planned for a “burpee-a-thon”…we’ll be asking players to solicit pledges on a “per burpee” basis - how many can they do in 5 minutes? Then we’ll have a good session to push each other to get as many as we can completed…pledge forms will be handed out at training along with a flyer…then they boys have to go out and get pledges!

Sip & Snack Wagon Raffle

Graciously being managed by the Barrington family (Kesane Barrington Family), she’ll be reaching out to solicit donations for a raffle including a “Treat Wagon” full of food and drink goodies, plus some cash prizes…targeting raffle at the May 9 game for the league championship. Players and families will get raffle tickets soon!

Gift Card Auction

Led by Jill Ricono (Max Ricono’s family), we need support in hitting up any local bars, restaraunts, or other businesses to donate a gift card to the club. We’ll then put all those cards up for an online auction with 100% of the proceeds coming back tot he club. It only costs us a few minutes of time to ask around while you’re out or with people you know to make a donation…and they get to advertise their business…it’s a win-win!

Restaurant “Nights Out”

Pay attention to Instagram and the rumor mill…several people have started to plan event at local restaurants with a portion of the night’s sales coming back to the club. You get to eat out…Thunder rugby gets some funds! For all those busy nights with kids in sports, make it easy for your family!
